My boyfriend is leaving for his summer job for 2 months. How do I deal with my sadness?

We are both in our 40s. The anticipation of him leaving is very difficult right now. I know he'll be back and we'll be fine but how do I deal with the sadness and knowledge that my companion won't be by my side for two months? Any ideas?
