What are the odds of having a mother's parental rihts terminated so that I can legally adopt my granddaughter
I have had pysical and legal custody of my 5 year old granddaughter since Oct 2002. Final hearing giving me sole custody and terminating "sick" father's parental rights July 2007. It was ordered at that time that before mother could seek to regain custody she has to go through two different pysciatric evaluations with GAL naming Drs in court order. Mother was proven completely unfit. She has since gotten off drugs, moved in with a man, and become pregnant again. In the last 4 years she has given a total of $130 - as a matter of fact thats all for child's entire life. She did buy approx. $ 100 worth of school supplies at beginning of school year for kindergarden. And she spent about $40.00 on her for Christmas. She will not come to our home to visit or pick up or return from visit. She claims its" too far" I just want my granddaughter to have a life that is not filled with upheavel anymore.
