Anyone agree that rescuing a dog is better then buying one form a pet store?

i do. my dog, Cindy, didnt come from a shelter though. you see, my mom worked as a paramedic and there were always this litter of puppies that came around begging for food. they seemed to have been abused, as some had blood in there fur and some had bumps and the toes were sticking out on odd angles. these dogs kept coming around and finally my mom wanted one and she rescued it. Even though Cindy is getting arthritis and pain in her old age, she's a great dog. However, my gramma has kind of been driving Cindy rather crazy and she has forgotten the tr icks she used to know... but still a good dog. anyoen agree that you should get them from a shelter rather then buying them?
